The Cancer Drug Development Forum (CDDF) is delighted to announce that the White Paper – “Overcoming the Barriers to Treatment of Rare Cancer”– has been published, following its “Innovation and Access in Rare Cancers” hybrid workshop held on 23-24 September 2024 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands
The article highlights the significant challenges faced by patients with rare cancers in accessing timely and effective treatments. It identifies critical barriers such as limited access to genomic profiling, regulatory hurdles, and insufficient research and development funding. The authors propose strategies to address these issues, including enhancing access to molecular profiling, streamlining regulatory processes, and increasing investment in research and development for rare cancers.
